You can be fully in charge of your life only if you can acknowledge the reality of your body, in all its visceral dimensions
— Bessel Van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score

YES!

I began this practice with a decision to pursue an unconventional path to healing.

On the journey to wholeness, I realized I could not go any farther on my own. It would take something outside of myself to surface the things that were stuck and unprocessed within me. Through practice and experimentation, I dedicated over 3 years to learning and experiencing the Shibari art form.

With each small surrender, I was able to prove my personal hypothesis, culminate a complete shift of mindset, and heal my nervous system. The process I created gave way to the groundwork for an unconventional, deeply impactful, psychosomatic therapy and behavior change model. The somatics of Shibari are an enrichment exercise and erotic ritual, tapping into the alchemy of change, opening the self to experience.

Part of that experience is intimacy — with one’s art, with self, and with others.

I’ve had the privilege of sharing my love of Shibari with collaborators like Helix, Hua Hua, and other rope community members, bringing it to audiences through The Ritual: a quiet rope jam (below), Life + Time = Art Performance, the Disorganized art show, Queerope 2025 Panel: Why We Tie, and my tiktok.

The Ritual: a quiet rope jam was a love child born out of years of dedicated shibari practice, intimate conversations, aftercare over tea, and the desire to share with others. From 2023 to 2024, Helix and I held these intimate gatherings, providing space for tops, bottoms, and switches alike, from all walks of life and experience levels to take part in the ritual ceremony. The Ritual was held at Brooklyn based community spaces like Temple and Samadhi.

Stay tuned for more event announcements!
