Words and rituals for Life’s most Sacred Crossings.

The thresholds of life are too important to pass by without intention, clarity, and intuition. Whether you’re taking vows of marriage, expressing commitment, laying someone or something to rest, or celebrating a hard earned accomplishment, I will guide you through the moment with words and rituals that open the path for you.

In 2019 I became the orator for my family.

Tasked with delivering the eulogy for my grandmother, Miss D, I had the heavy honor of writing and speaking in her memory. Since then, I’ve aided in the crossing of impactful life moments for my family and others.

For my sister’s magical Tulum wedding in 2024, I was the officiant of the ceremony. The process was intentional and grounded in spirit. I crafted a custom non-denominational wedding ceremony and accompanying ritual to match the nuptial couple and the new chapter they were entering.

The privilege of being a speaker and guide is something I carry hand in heart, and it is my gift to be the guide for your passage.

Every ceremony begins with Initiation.

Whether you know exactly what you need or you're still figuring out what the moment calls for — that's what the initiation call is for.

All ceremony work begins there, with no obligation and no script.

  • Union, commitment, and the promises we make to one another.

These are the ceremonies built around love in all its forms, legal and symbolic, traditional and unconventional. Whether you're exchanging vows for the first time, renewing them after years together, or creating a ceremony that the law doesn't yet have language for, this work celebrates who you are as a couple.

Weddings — Full custom officiation, speeches, and ritual design. Your ceremony, written from your story.

Commitment ceremonies — Vow exchanges, interfaith unions, and vow renewals. Every love deserves a ceremony to match it.

  • Honoring a life fully — in grief, gratitude, and truth.

A eulogy, a memorial, is meant to hold the grief of transition while also holding the fullness of a life. This work is approached with the care, gravity, and ancestral grounding it deserves, and the experience of having stood at those thresholds myself.

Funerals & Memorials — Eulogies, tributes, and celebrations of life. Words that honor without flattening, and hold without breaking.

  • Marking moments of becoming and closing chapters with grace.

Not every threshold is defined by love or loss. Some are about arrival; a child welcomed into a family, a person welcomed into a name. Others are about completion; a career completed, a chapter closed. These ceremonies recognize that becoming is a threshold of its own, and every significant crossing deserves to be witnessed.

Baby Namings & Adoption Celebrations — Secular or spiritual ceremonies welcoming a child into family and community. A beginning marked with intention.

Retirement Ceremonies — Honoring a career and the person who built it. A genuine rite of passage into what comes next.

  • Holding space for collective moments — professionally, publicly, purposefully.

Gatherings that deserve a host who understands that the room is moving through a shared crossing. Someone who can hold the energy of a collective moment with the same intention brought to a personal one.

Corporate Event Hosting — Award ceremonies, panel discussions, company milestones, and keynote moments. Presence and craft brought to the professional stage.

  • Your words, shaped and strengthened with the power to deliver them yourself.

This offering is for the best man who wants his toast to land, the daughter who needs help finding words for her father, the colleague who wants to send someone off with something meaningful. Your voice. Your story. My pen.

Speech & Toast Editing — Collaborative writing and editing to help you craft and deliver toasts, tributes, and speeches in your own voice.

“When planning our wedding ceremony, it was important that it felt like us and that our officiant could embody that through words.

When Vanessa began working with us, it was clear that she understood what we were embarking on but more importantly, what it meant to us. She took the time to get to know our stories and experiences separately, and who we are as people. The ceremony she wrote was uniquely ours, incorporated with spiritual elements from the land we were married on! That was a truly special touch that we did not expect! We laughed, cried and shared a moment with all our friends and family that we will never forget. If you are looking for your ceremony to be written with care, personalization, and artistry, I cannot recommend Vanessa enough!”
